For each and every Sales Document, for example be it Order, or Quotation, or any other Sales Document, there is an User Status, like whether it is Open, In Process, Completed or Rejected. By looking at the status, the user can understand, that particular document is in which stage. Status can be maintained at CRM Order Header Level or at CRM Order Item Level.
Here we will discuss how to configure a Status Profile in a simple business scenario. Since this discussion is only for understanding purpose, we will not take complex business scenario into account.
Our Status Profile will involve only 4 statuses:
1> Open (Initial Status)
2> In Process
3> Rejected
4> Completed
Our business requirement is after the status of the Sales Document is Rejected or Completed, the document cannot be modified any further, it can be only displayed. Now lets discuss the configuration part:
Configuring Status Profile For Sales Orders:
1 > Define Status Profile
[ Menupath: IMG > CRM > Transactions > Basic Settings > Status Management > Define Status Profile for user status > Create

Now place the cursor on the status “ REJECTED” and double click. Select the radio button “Forbidden” and “SAVE”. Then come back.
Now place the cursor on the status “COMPLETED” and double click. Select the radio button “Forbidden” and “SAVE”.
Then Save the Status Profile
2> Assign Status Profile to Transaction Type and also to Item Category.
